About Out of Step Offbeat Boutique
Welcome to Out of Step Offbeat Boutique and General Store, where creativity, individuality, and community come together. Since opening our doors in November 2021 at the historic Trenton Farmers Market, we’ve become Mercer County’s go-to destination for unique gifts, handmade items, and exotic snacks.
Our story began with co-founders and partners Meaghan Singletary and Joseph Kuzemka, who combined their diverse talents and shared vision to create a one-of-a-kind shopping experience. Meaghan’s significant background in retail development, marketing, and the arts perfectly complements Joseph’s 30+ years of experience in event production, creative direction and vendor relations, including his role as the founder of the New Jersey (Trenton) Punk Rock Flea Market, Darkside New Jersey Art & Oddities Expo, and Art All Night - Trenton. Together, they have built a space that celebrates small businesses and independent creators which is visited by thousands of shoppers per year.
What began as a 750-square-foot boutique featuring goods from over 175 artists, makers, and small businesses will soon expand to a 1,500-square-foot creative hub, allowing us to showcase items from more than 300 creatives. Every product we carry is thoughtfully curated to offer our customers something truly special - whether it’s unique snacks and specialty foods, quirky home décor, original artwork, or offbeat apparel, vinyl, as well as over 200 book unique book titles and more.
Located at the north end of the Trenton Farmers Market, a community cornerstone for over 75 years, Out of Step is proud to contribute to the market’s rich history. The store space itself carries a legacy, having previously housed the Amish Market and a beloved fruit stand before that.

Plenty of free parking is located around the Farmers Market.
